111.3 million people took the time to watch the Superbowl. It’s a matter of historical fact now. Like many people, my ‘favorite’ team was not playing in the game, but I was in favor of the Giants winning. Why? I just like them better than the Patriots. They are not my favorite team, and I don’t regularly follow their games – I have often cheered AGAINST them when they are playing my favorite team. On Superbowl Sunday 2012 though, I was watching the game, and rooting for the Giants, because it is participation in an event that is tremendous and distinctly American. It brings us together as a country.
Politics has that same potential, but an increasing number of Americans don’t view it that way. In politics, if our favorite team is not playing in the championship game, we don’t watch, we don’t vote, we don’t participate, and in doing so we miss out on an event and a process that is amazing – it is distinctly American! Politics and Elections can bring us together as a country.
For football, many Americans get the stats of our favorite teams, we do competitive research on opposing teams, we call out bias in commentators, and we boo when a ref makes a bad call. Can you IMAGINE how dynamic our political landscape would be if we did that same kind of research on the candidates? It would be amazing!
This election season, get involved like it’s a football game – we are still in the very ‘early minutes’ of this political football game. Invite your friends to be a part of it, do the research on the opponents, find out the stats on your candidate/team and don’t be afraid to like a team/candidate that may not be your favorite!
Bottom line, go out and get involved ! Watch the plays that are made, do the research, find out the best plays to lead to our victory. You can participate and get involved – you’ve GOT to – because this isn’t just two hours, a trophy and a ring we’re talking about… This is the future of our great nation! The playclock is counting down. Treat this election season with the same passion you would the Superbowl, and get involved!
Keep Watch!

Instead of running into the deadfall set up by the media, both Gingrich and Romney h
ad the opportunity to take a higher, nobler road. Gingrich could have taken that road by apologizing for his immigration attack ad on Romney by saying “You know, that ad was probably not in the best of taste, I apologize, Mitt.” then holding out his hand in friendship. Romney instead of saying “I doubt that’s my ad” in reference to his ad attacking Gingrich, could have said “You know, I know that things have been getting intense the farther along in this Primary”. Both Romney and Gingrich would have shown themselves to be the bigger man, and it would have been the “Presidential” thing to do.
that it is less of a fight for Obama.
With each new stage of the campaign to the Republican nomination, Ron Paul has been tagged with a new label (sometimes multiple labels at the same time) Let’s take a look at some of the labels so far – Racist, Anti-Semite, Anti- Gay, Anti- American, Anti-Elderly, Anti-Environment, Isolationist, Anti-Military, “Fringe Candidate”, “CRAZY” – Yet he continues to gain strength and support. Why? The answer is very simple… they have yet to tag him with the correct label – which is that he is just “RIGHT”!
“…judged not by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character” – Martin Luther King – August 28, 1963
He has been labeled as an “Anti-Semite” for his belief that the United States should end foreign aid to countries, including Israel. Israel and these other countries have there own governments, economies, and military, and are capable of making decisions for themselves. Moreover, these countries would benefit economically from the United States focusing on healing and strengthening our own economy. Though we will always keep our unique and special relationship with Israel, Ron Paul’s stance would allow Israel and other countries to take responsibility for themselves, rather than being ’micro-managed’ by the United States. One of the greatest Israeli leaders in history, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has stated the same thing directly to the United States Congress
“You don’t need to do nation building in Israel, we’re already built -You don’t need to export democracy to Israel, we’ve already got it -and you don’t need to send American troops to Israel… WE DEFEND OURSELVES! ” – Benjamin Netanyahu- May 24, 2011
“The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people” – 10th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution
Ron Paul has been labeled “Anti-Environment” since he would eliminate the Federal Environmental Protection Agency, allow for the expansion of offshore drilling while eliminating federal subsidizing of that drilling, allow for mining on federal lands, and has expressed doubts and concerns regarding the assumption of man-made global warming. Ron Paul has always been an unshakable proponent of state’s rights, and his stance would allow states to create their own environmental monitoring and protecting agencies – a much more effective way to quickly assess and address environmental concerns in a specific area. By eliminating federal subsidies going towards offshore drilling companies, and removing the regulations and bureaucracy of that drilling, Ron Paul would encourage drilling companies to lower the cost of the oil, and reinvest in their own companies to innovate safer and more effective ways to drill. By allowing the mining of federal lands, the United States would decrease its dependency on foreign energy sources, while helping to strengthen our own economy. There is still much controversy surrounding man-made climate change, and Ron Paul’s stance is a scientific one – skepticism until proven. He is not alone in that sentiment as demonstrated by the signers of the Or

June 11, 2011 – Cowboys, candidates and BBQ’d food may have been the fixins for the Broward Republican Executive Committee BBQ, but the main course was served up by Congressman Allen West. In his speech to about 500 Broward County Republicans, he left no doubt about the goal that Florida Republicans and the Republicans nationwide should be working for in the 2012 Presidential Election.
