The word “Watchman” has been used since the late fourteenth century to describe someone who stands on guard – keeping a watchful eye on the security of his country, and his fellow citizens. It is synonymous with the words: lookout, watcher, guardian and sentinel. These words define many of us in today’s world.
We are lookouts, sounding the alarm when freedoms are threatened.
We are watchers, keeping a sharp eye on our elected officials and the legislation they propose and pass.
We are guardians for the legacy of freedom established by our Founding Fathers through the Constitution of the United States, and the sacrifice of heroic men and women throughout the generations
We are sentinels, standing in defense of the liberties we hold so dear, and the truths that our great nation was founded upon.
The Political Watchman is a site that both aggregates informative articles from across the United States, as well as publishing articles and opinion pieces written by our staff and guest writers. We have a conservative viewpoint, but our focus is on the truth. Our writers and staff, are politically diverse, ranging from Goldwater Conservatives, through Grassroots Independents, to Conservative-minded Democrats.
The Political Watchman is not a religious site though matters of religion, as they pertain to the nation’s politics, will be covered here.
We encourage intelligent debate, but require that it be done with respect- without the use of profanity, explitives, or perjorative language. Our articles may bring to light bad behavior of politicians and politicos, but we strive to shine that light while maintaining all possible civility.
